Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg 3 Kenosha, WI United States Where You Will Work: Aurora Medical Center Kenosha’s MS 3 unit is a 13-bed medical/surgical unit located on the hospital’s second floor, specializing in orthopedic care, general surgery, and inpatient hospice services. Two rooms are designated for hospice patients, ensuring compassionate end-of-life care. The unit maintains an average daily census of 12.8 patients, with an average length of stay of four days. MS 3 operates under a triad leadership model consisting of a Patient Care Manager, Unit Supervisor, and Nursing Professional Development Practitioner, while the charge nurse carries a reduced patient load to support clinical needs and daily operations. Spacious rooms and scenic views enhance the patient experience. Nurse-to-patient ratios typically average 1 RN for every 5 patients and 1 Nursing Assistant for every 7 patients. All team members must obtain BLS within 30 days of hire, and RNs are required to complete telemetry training within 30 days of orientation. The unit fosters a welcoming, inclusive environment with strong team engagement and active participation in professional governance, ensuring meaningful input in decision-making at both unit and site levels. MS 3 regularly hosts clinical rotations and welcomes new graduate nurses, prioritizing high reliability practices, open communication, and a culture of learning. We’re Looking For: Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association What You’ll Do: As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
