POSITION PURPOSE: Assist with processing payroll, customer service, and purchasing functions within a fast paced resort environment. This entry level position provides growth opportunities within the department.
Key Responsibilities - Overview:
- Assist in Payroll production of daily, weekly, period, quarterly, and annual reports
- Review, verify, record and control all payroll records as defined adhering to deadlines in order to meet payroll production timelines
- Completing various reports as required by accounting management depending on the needs of hotel operations
- Assist in Customer Service inquiries, billing, reporting:
- Create new client accounts following prescribed extension of credit and deposit rules
- Provides regular client support as it pertains to charges of services and collection of payments
- Monthly close duties to include but not limited to production of all needed accounts receivable related reporting and research as needed by management
- Assist in Purchasing and Receiving documentation
- Processing of purchase orders and receiving records
- Data entry reporting and utilizing Purchasing software
- Ensure maintenance of all daily filing of documents in accordance with published ‘Record Retention’ policy
- Monthly closing duties to include but not limited to reporting on daily tasks, participation in inventories, research as needed by management
- Other Duties as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
§ High school diploma or equivalent required
§ Experience with general office help, customer service, payroll processing, or bookkeeping experience desirable
§ Must have strong work ethics, be well organized, a self-starter, ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
§ Strong Microsoft Office component skills such as Outlook and Excel
§ Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
§ Willingness to work a flexible schedule in order to meet business deadlines
SKILLS:
§ Excellent critical thinking; able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
§ Performs work in well-organized, self-directed manner with ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple tasks
§ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
§ Familiarity with local, state & federal; sales & use tax and labor law
§ Previous experience with any of these systems highly desired – UKG /Kronos, Opera, Micros, Birchstreet
