Are you energetic, self-motivated, and detail-oriented The City of West Allis is seeking a dependable Maintenance Repairer to join our Facilities and Sign Division within the Department of Public Works. This hands-on role supports our community by maintaining facilities, grounds, signage, and pavement markings—helping keep our city safe, functional, and welcoming.Why You’ll Love It

- Maintain and repair non-mechanical traffic warning and regulatory signs.
- Install and maintain pavement markings following MUTCD standards.
- Perform preventative and general maintenance on City facilities and grounds.
- Complete carpentry, painting, plumbing, and related maintenance work.
- Plan, organize, and execute facility repairs.
- Oversee building maintenance contracts and service work.
- Perform custodial duties as needed.
- Assist with duties outside your main classification to meet workload demands.
- Work overtime when required, including snowplowing, emergency facility/grounds work, signage placement, traffic control, watch duty, and other emergency needs.What You Bring
- General maintenance and repair experience across facilities, grounds, and playground equipment.
- Working knowledge of trades including HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, general painting, and some electrical.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform repairs safely and efficiently.
- Attention to detail and initiative in identifying and addressing maintenance needs.
- Flexibility and reliability during overtime or emergency situations.
